Christian Pulisic becomes youngest to win U.S. Soccer Male Player of the Year.
Midfielder Christian Pulisic became the youngest man to win U.S. Soccer’s Player of the Year on Thursday.
The 19-year-old who plays for Borussia Dortmund became the youngest winner since Landon Donovan claimed the award in 2003 at 21. Pulisic is coming off a stellar year for the U.S. men’s national team. He had six goals and four assists in nine matches, but was involved in 13 of the 17 goals scored during matches in which he played this year.
He ended his first full season with the Borussia Dortmund first team by recording three goals and three assists in 25 matches across all competitions for the Bundesliga runners-up.
He received 94 percent of the tabulated votes.
